Very insightful. However, it would have been pertinent to lay down clear differentiation between innocent passage and transit passage. I had written something on it as part of my Law of the Sea assignment during my LLM. I would like to share it with SAIL. In my opinion l, Iran has a right to restrict the passage of ships if the passage is no longer innocent.

I think be it transit passage or innocent passage it has to be peaceful. Otherwise, other States can take lawful measures.

So you think the Strait is subject to innocent passage rules? If so agree to disagree 😄 But agree that must be peaceful regardless of which type of strait

No. I agree with you that straits are subject to transit passage only and not innocent passage.
